  • Atlantic Ocean and the Equator: Location and Crossing Points
The Atlantic Ocean does not lie on the equator.

While the equator does cross the Atlantic Ocean, the entire ocean is not situated on the equator. The equator passes through the Atlantic Ocean in the following locations:

    * South America: The equator crosses the north coast of South America, running through countries like Ecuador and Colombia.

    * Africa: The equator crosses the African continent, running through countries like Gabon, Congo, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Atlantic Ocean itself stretches far beyond these points, extending north and south of the equator.
