  • Pacific Ocean: Home to Volcanic Island Chains and the Ring of Fire
The ocean with many small scattered islands formed from the tips of extinct volcanoes is the Pacific Ocean.

    Here's why:

    * Volcanic Activity: The Pacific Ocean is home to the "Ring of Fire," a zone of intense volcanic and seismic activity. This activity creates numerous volcanoes, many of which emerge from the ocean floor.

    * Island Formation: As volcanoes erupt and build up over time, their peaks can eventually reach above sea level, forming islands. When these volcanoes become extinct, the islands remain.

    * Scattered Islands: The Pacific Ocean's vast size and active geology lead to a large number of scattered islands formed in this way. Examples include Hawaii, the Mariana Islands, and the Solomon Islands.
