Ionian Sea: Lying to the southwest of the Balkan Peninsula, between Greece and Italy. It is a part of the Mediterranean Sea.
Aegean Sea: Situated to the southeast of the Balkan Peninsula, between mainland Greece and Turkey.
Black Sea: Located to the east of the Balkan Peninsula, it is enclosed by the Balkan Peninsula, Turkey, the Caucasus, and Ukraine.
Sea of Marmara: A relatively small sea connecting the Aegean Sea and the Black Sea, separating the European part of Turkey from the Asian part.
