  • Intrusive Igneous Rocks: Texture and Formation Explained
An intrusive igneous rock will have a phaneritic texture. This means that the rock is composed of visible crystals. The crystals are visible because the rock cooled slowly, allowing the crystals to grow large. Intrusive igneous rocks are formed when magma cools underground. The magma cools slowly because it is insulated by the surrounding rock. This allows the crystals to grow large.
