Pyramidal cells are located in the cerebral cortex, which is the outermost layer of the brain. The cerebral cortex is divided into two hemispheres, the left and right hemispheres, and each hemisphere is further divided into four lobes: the frontal lobe, parietal lobe, temporal lobe, and occipital lobe. Pyramidal cells are found in all four lobes of the cerebral cortex, but they are most abundant in the frontal lobe.
