Queen Athaliah was the daughter of King Ahab and Queen Jezebel of Israel. She became the queen of Judah when her son, King Ahaziah, was killed in battle. Athaliah was known as a cruel and wicked ruler, and she ordered the murders of all of her grandchildren, except for one named Joash, whom her daughter Jehosheba hid. Joash was later crowned king of Judah, and Athaliah was killed.
