The blue crab is a species of crab that is native to the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. Typically, blue crabs are found in shallow waters, such as bays and estuaries, where they feed on a variety of organisms, including clams, mussels, and small fish. Due to climate change, the water temperatures in the northern regions of the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico have been increasing, which has allowed the blue crab to extend its range northward. As a result, blue crabs are now found as far north as Massachusetts and Maine.
