Lizards are diverse and ecologically-significant components of desert ecosystems with crucial roles as predators and prey as well as in foodweb dynamics and nutrient cycling. Despite their importance, the spatial distribution of lizards in Qatar remained undocumented at the state-wide level thus far. In our recent publication in Zootaxa (\( \url{https://www.mapress.com/zootaxa/article/view/50253} \)), we provide the first distributional maps (grid cell maps using 2 x 2 km UTM grid cells; range maps) representing updated geographic distributions based on validated geo-referenced occurrence records for three commonly encountered lizard species (2 geckos i.e. Mediterranean house gecko
_Hemidactylus turcicus_ and Dhofar leaf-toed gecko
_Asaccus caudivolvulus_) and 1 skink species (
_Ablepharus rueppellii_).
