  • Groundwater Depletion & Sea Level Rise: Understanding the Connection
The contribution of groundwater depletion to global mean sea level rise has been estimated to range from 0.04 mm to 0.25 mm per year during 1900-2000. It is projected that groundwater depletion will continue to contribute to sea level rise at a rate of about 0.08 mm per year between 2001 and 2025.
