[Image of the two maps released by NASA showing the areas in Texas that were saturated by Harvey]
The first map shows the amount of rain that fell in the Houston area from August 25-27. The map shows that the area north and east of Houston received the most rain, with some areas getting over 20 inches.
The second map shows the amount of water on the ground in the Houston area on August 28. The map shows that the water was mostly concentrated in the same areas that received the most rain. However, the water had also spread out to other areas, including some areas south and west of Houston.
These maps show that Harvey had a significant impact on the Houston area. The torrential rain caused widespread flooding, which damaged homes and businesses and displaced thousands of people.
