    2.Conflict Assessment: We utilized the Water Conflict Risk Assessment Framework to analyze the potential for conflict over shared rivers, considering factors such as water stress, institutional arrangements, and governance effectiveness.

    3.Sustainability Analysis: We evaluated current water management practices and identified opportunities for sustainable river management that prioritize equitable allocation, infrastructure development, and environmental protection.

    Key Findings:

    1. High Conflict Risk: Our analysis revealed that several major river basins in Africa face a high risk of conflict over water resources. These basins include the Nile, Congo, Niger, and Zambezi river systems, where multiple countries share water resources and face competing demands for water.

    2. Water Stress and Population Growth: Increasing water stress due to population growth, urbanization, and climate change exacerbates the risk of conflict. Climate projections suggest reduced rainfall and increased variability, further straining water resources.

    3. Institutional Challenges: Many African countries lack robust water governance frameworks, institutional coordination, and effective dispute resolution mechanisms to manage shared water resources effectively.
