There is currently no evidence to support the existence of a Parthian-era sanctuary at Rabana-Merquly. Excavations at the site have primarily yielded evidence of a fortified citadel and royal necropolis dating back to the 1st century BCE, during the Meroitic period of ancient Sudan. While Parthian influence can be seen in certain architectural elements and funerary practices at the site, there is no explicit indication of a Parthian-era sanctuary. Ongoing archaeological research may shed further light on the potential religious and cultural significance of Rabana-Merquly in the broader context of ancient Sudan.
