  • Photosynthesis: The Essential Molecules Plants Use to Create Glucose
The two molecules plants use, along with sunlight, to make glucose are:

    * Carbon dioxide (CO2): Plants take in carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The carbon from this molecule is used to build the glucose molecule.

    * Water (H2O): Plants absorb water from the soil through their roots. The hydrogen atoms from water are used to build the glucose molecule, and the oxygen atoms are released as a byproduct of the process.

This process is called photosynthesis, and it's the foundation of life on Earth!
