  • Avocado Energy: How Photosynthesis Fuels Growth
An avocado, like all plants, gets its energy from the sun through a process called photosynthesis.

    Here's how it works:

    1. Sunlight: The avocado tree's leaves contain chlorophyll, a green pigment that absorbs sunlight.

    2. Carbon Dioxide: The tree takes in carbon dioxide from the air through tiny pores called stomata on its leaves.

    3. Water: The tree absorbs water from the soil through its roots.

    4. Photosynthesis: Using the energy from sunlight, the tree combines carbon dioxide and water to create glucose (sugar), a source of energy, and oxygen. This process also releases water vapor into the air.

The glucose created during photosynthesis is used by the avocado tree for growth, development, and all its life functions, including producing the fruit we enjoy.
