  • Essential Nutrients: Fueling Your Body's Energy and Growth
The substances that provide the energy and raw materials the human body needs are called nutrients. These are broken down into six main categories:

    1. Carbohydrates: Provide the body's primary source of energy. Examples include sugars, starches, and fibers.

    2. Proteins: Essential for building and repairing tissues, as well as producing enzymes, hormones, and antibodies. Examples include meat, poultry, fish, beans, nuts, and dairy products.

    3. Fats: Provide concentrated energy, help absorb certain vitamins, and protect organs. Examples include butter, oil, and fatty fish.

    4. Vitamins: Organic compounds that regulate various bodily processes. Examples include vitamin A, C, D, E, and K.

    5. Minerals: Inorganic substances that contribute to bone health, muscle function, and fluid balance. Examples include calcium, iron, zinc, and magnesium.

    6. Water: Essential for hydration, regulating body temperature, and transporting nutrients.

It's important to consume a balanced diet that includes all these nutrient categories for optimal health and wellbeing.
