  • Photosynthesis: How Plants Convert Sunlight into Energy
Most plants get the energy they need to live and grow from the sun.

This process is called photosynthesis. Plants use the sun's energy to convert carbon dioxide and water into sugar (glucose) and oxygen. The sugar provides the plant with the energy it needs to grow, while the oxygen is released into the atmosphere.
