  • The Sun as the Primary Energy Source for Life
The source of energy for most organisms is the sun.

    Here's how it works:

    * Photosynthesis: Plants and other photosynthetic organisms capture sunlight and use it to convert carbon dioxide and water into glucose (a type of sugar) and oxygen. This process is called photosynthesis.

    * Food Chain: Animals eat plants (or other animals that have eaten plants) and obtain the stored energy from the glucose. This energy is used for all life processes, such as growth, movement, and reproduction.

So, even though animals don't directly use sunlight, they rely on it indirectly through the food chain.

There are a few exceptions to this rule, such as organisms that live in deep-sea vents and use chemical energy from the Earth's interior. However, these are relatively rare compared to the vast majority of life that depends on the sun.
