    Plants don't produce food from energy, they produce food using energy. Here's how it works:

    Photosynthesis

    1. Sunlight: Plants capture sunlight using a green pigment called chlorophyll.

    2. Water: They absorb water from the soil through their roots.

    3. Carbon dioxide: They take in carbon dioxide from the air through tiny pores on their leaves called stomata.

    4. Energy Conversion: Chlorophyll uses the energy from sunlight to convert water and carbon dioxide into glucose (a type of sugar) and oxygen.

    The Chemical Equation:

    6CO₂ (carbon dioxide) + 6H₂O (water) + light energy → C₆H₁₂O₆ (glucose) + 6O₂ (oxygen)

    The Food:

    Glucose is the plant's food. It's a simple sugar that provides energy for the plant to grow, repair itself, and perform other functions. The oxygen is released back into the atmosphere.

    In essence, plants use the energy from sunlight to convert simple inorganic compounds (water and carbon dioxide) into complex organic compounds (glucose), which they use as food.

    This process is crucial for all life on Earth, as plants are the primary producers of the food chain, providing sustenance for animals and humans.
