Mobile homes rely on the same electrical infrastructure as site‑built residences. To accurately measure consumption, power is first routed through an electric meter before reaching the home’s circuits.
Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the metal cover. Inside, you’ll find six terminals: three on the line (input) side and three on the load (output) side.
Connect a non‑live cable from the trailer park’s utility pole or a dedicated outlet to the meter box. Prior to any connection, confirm the cable is de‑energized and wear insulated gloves for safety.
At the meter end, strip about an inch of insulation from the three conductors—red (hot 1), black (hot 2), and white (neutral). Repeat the same preparation on the cable that will come from the circuit breaker.
Attach the red hot to the terminal labeled A or L1, and the black hot to the terminal labeled B or L2. Secure each wire by loosening the screw, inserting the stripped end, and tightening firmly. Connect the white neutral to the N terminal.
On the load side, connect the incoming hot conductors to the L1 and L2 (or A and B) terminals and the neutral to the N terminal. Once all connections are secure, replace the meter cover.
Inspect the work for tightness and correct color coding, then restore power. If any discrepancies are found, turn off the breaker and correct before testing again.
