Texas Instruments’ TI‑84 Silver Edition is a popular graphing calculator that offers more than just math functions. With a built‑in USB port, clock, 1.5 MB of flash ROM, and a backup cell battery, it also comes with a lightweight word‑processing app called NoteFolio. This app lets you write, edit, copy, paste, and transfer notes between the calculator and a computer, making it a handy tool for students and educators alike.
Turn on your TI‑84 and wait for the home screen to appear. If you see a previous calculation or graph, press the Clear button repeatedly until the screen is blank.
Press the APPS key. Scroll through the list until you find NoteFolio and hit Enter to launch it.
The app will prompt you to confirm. Press Enter again, and you’re ready to type your notes. Use the calculator’s keypad to input text, and the Shift key for additional characters.
Once you finish, you can use the USB connection to sync your notes with a PC, or simply keep them on the calculator for quick reference during classes or exams.
