  • Electrical Conductivity: What Materials Conduct Electricity Best?
A material that current passes through easily is called a conductor.

Here are some examples of good conductors:

    * Metals: Copper, silver, gold, aluminum are excellent conductors. This is why they are used in electrical wiring.

    * Graphite: This form of carbon is a good conductor, which is why it's used in pencils and batteries.

    * Electrolyte solutions: Solutions containing dissolved ions, like salt water, can conduct electricity.

Important Note: The ability of a material to conduct electricity is called conductivity. The higher the conductivity, the easier it is for current to flow.
