The Basics
A light bulb is a simple but important part of a circuit. Here's the gist:
* It converts electrical energy into light and heat. Think of it as a tiny little heater that also happens to glow!
How it Works
1. Electricity Flows: When electricity flows through the circuit, it reaches the light bulb.
2. Filament Heats Up: Inside the bulb is a thin wire called a filament. This filament is made of a material that gets extremely hot when electricity passes through it.
3. Heat and Light: As the filament gets hotter and hotter, it starts to glow. This glowing is the light we see! Some of the energy is also lost as heat, which is why light bulbs can get warm or even hot to the touch.
