  • Understanding TV Signals: Radio Waves & Analog vs. Digital
TVs use radio waves as the electromagnetic wave for broadcasting.

There are two main types of TV broadcasts:

    * Analog TV: Used older, standard definition TV signals. These signals used radio waves in the VHF (Very High Frequency) and UHF (Ultra High Frequency) bands.

    * Digital TV: Modern TV signals using a digital format for higher quality. These signals still use radio waves, but specifically in the UHF band.

While the specific frequencies used for TV broadcasts vary by country and region, they all fall within the radio wave portion of the electromagnetic spectrum.
