  • Voltmeter: Understanding Electric Potential Measurement
The device used to measure electric potential is called a voltmeter.

    Here's why:

    * Electric potential is the amount of electric potential energy per unit charge at a specific point in an electric field. It's measured in volts (V).

    * Voltmeters are designed to measure the difference in electric potential between two points in a circuit. This difference in potential is often referred to as voltage.

To use a voltmeter, you connect its probes to the two points you want to measure the potential difference between. The voltmeter then displays the voltage difference.
