  • Series Circuits: Understanding Current Flow and Components
The parts of a series circuit are wired one after another so the amount of current is the same throughout the entire circuit.

    Here's why:

    * Single Path: In a series circuit, there's only one path for the current to flow.

    * Conservation of Charge: The fundamental principle of electric circuits is that charge is conserved. This means that the same amount of charge that enters a circuit must also exit the circuit.

Since the charge has no other path to take, the same amount of current flows through each component in the circuit.
