  • Conductors: Properties, Examples, and Applications
A device or material that permits current to flow through it easily is called a conductor.

Here are some examples of conductors:

    * Metals: Copper, silver, gold, aluminum are excellent conductors. This is why they are used in electrical wiring.

    * Water: Pure water is a poor conductor, but impurities like salts make it more conductive.

    * Graphite: This form of carbon is a good conductor, making it useful in pencils and batteries.

    * Electrolytes: These are solutions that contain ions, allowing for electrical current to flow.

The opposite of a conductor is an insulator, which resists the flow of electrical current. Examples include rubber, glass, and plastic.
