  • Electric Motors in Blenders: How They Work & Why
A blender that uses electric current to turn its blades is an example of an electric motor.

    Here's why:

    * Electric motors convert electrical energy into mechanical energy. In the case of a blender, the electric current powers a motor that spins the blades.

    * Electric current creates a magnetic field, which interacts with another magnetic field (often within the motor itself) to produce rotation.

    * This rotational force is what makes the blades of the blender spin.
