  • Cellphones and Light: Do They Emit Their Own Light?
A cellphone itself is not a luminous object.

    Here's why:

    * Luminous objects produce their own light.

    * Cellphones emit light from their screens, which are powered by LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes).

    * LEDs are the source of light, not the cellphone itself.

So, while a cellphone *appears* to be luminous because it emits light, it is actually reflecting light from the LEDs within its screen.
