1. Place the taper lever on the end of the cue.
2. Hold the cue with your non-dominant hand, with your thumb on the shaft and your fingers on the taper lever.
3. With your dominant hand, draw back the plunger of the taper lever.
4. Insert the tip of the cue into the taper lever.
5. Push down on the plunger to clamp the taper lever onto the cue.
6. Use the taper lever to adjust the position of the cue tip on the cue shaft.
7. When you are finished using the taper lever, draw back the plunger and remove it from the cue.
