1. Gather your materials. You will need:

3. Wipe off the tape. Use the non-abrasive cloth to wipe away the tape and Goo Gone. Be sure to wipe in the direction of the grain of the copper.
Method 3: Vinegar

2. Apply vinegar. Apply a small amount of white vinegar to the tape. Let the vinegar sit for about 30 seconds, or until it starts to dissolve the tape.
3. Wipe off the tape. Use the non-abrasive cloth to wipe away the tape and vinegar. Be sure to wipe in the direction of the grain of the copper.
Tips
* Be sure to test any cleaning solution on a small area of the copper before using it on the entire surface.
* If the tape is very sticky, you may need to use a combination of methods to remove it.
* Be patient. It may take some time to remove all of the tape.
