Samsung said Wednesday it decided not to display its Galaxy Tab 10.1 at the IFA trade show in Berlin to make sure that it will not lead to any further confusion in the market. The company said it also plans to appeal an injunction by a German court that blocked the sales of the tablet in Germany.
Apple filed the lawsuit last month, alleging that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 infringes on its patents. Apple won the injunction last Friday.
Samsung and Apple are embroiled in multiple lawsuits over patents and designs, mainly in the U.S. and Germany. The rivals are the No. 1 and 2 smartphone makers, respectively.
The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is a tablet computer with a 10.1-inch screen, similar in size to Apple's iPad. Samsung said the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is a different product from its 7-inch Galaxy Tab, which has not been banned in Germany.
Samsung said it will continue to defend its intellectual property rights in various jurisdictions.
