  • Understanding Internet Disruption: Fiber Optic Cables & Network Resilience
While it is true that cutting undersea fiber-optic cables could disrupt internet traffic, it would not completely shut down the entire internet. The internet is a decentralized network, meaning that there are multiple paths for data to travel between devices. If one cable is cut, traffic can be rerouted through other cables or alternative routes. Additionally, it is not easy to physically access and cut undersea fiber-optic cables, as they are buried deep beneath the ocean and are heavily protected.
