While video conferencing has become prevalent during the COVID-19 pandemic to maintain communication, studies are revealing potential limitations affecting participants' cognitive capabilities and collaboration efficacy. Research in progress aims to provide empirical evidence to optimize conference settings for better remote communication experiences. However, if virtual meeting fatigue persists due to cognitive overload or ineffective interactions, alternative modes of synchronous and asynchronous communication should be considered to ensure productivity and creativity during prolonged remote work situations.
