  • Hydrogen: Understanding the Simplest Atom - Structure & Properties
    The simplest of all atoms is hydrogen (H).

    Here's why:

    * One proton: Hydrogen only has one proton in its nucleus.

    * One electron: It also has only one electron orbiting the nucleus.

    * No neutrons: The most common isotope of hydrogen (protium) has no neutrons.

    This makes hydrogen the smallest and most basic atom, with the simplest structure.
