    You can't determine a single pH value for all washing powders. Here's why:

    * Washing powders are a mixture: They contain various ingredients like surfactants, enzymes, builders, and bleaching agents. Each of these ingredients can have a different pH.

    * pH varies by brand: Different brands use different formulas and ingredients, resulting in varying pH levels.

    * Concentration affects pH: The pH of a washing powder solution can change depending on how much powder you use and how much water you dissolve it in.

    Generally, washing powders are slightly alkaline (basic). This is because the main ingredients, like surfactants and builders, tend to be alkaline. However, some powders might be closer to neutral, and some might be more strongly alkaline.

    Important note: It's not recommended to directly test the pH of washing powder with a pH meter. The chemicals in the powder can damage the meter.

    Instead of focusing on the exact pH, it's more important to be aware of:

    * Washing powder is not meant to be used directly on skin: Always dissolve it in water first.

    * Some people may experience skin irritation from alkaline products: If you have sensitive skin, consider using a gentler laundry detergent.

    * Following the instructions on the packaging is essential: The manufacturer will have specified the appropriate dosage and water temperature for using the product safely and effectively.
