  • Iron(II) Nitrate Color: Properties & Appearance
Iron(II) nitrate, also known as ferrous nitrate, is typically pale green in color.

However, its appearance can vary depending on the hydration state of the compound. The anhydrous form is a white solid, but it readily absorbs moisture from the air and forms hydrates, which are usually pale green.

Keep in mind that solutions of iron(II) nitrate can appear slightly yellow or brownish due to oxidation to iron(III) ions.
