  • Key Properties of Liquids: Volume, Shape & Fluidity Explained
While there are many properties of liquids, the three most fundamental are:

    1. Definite Volume: Liquids have a fixed volume, meaning they occupy a specific amount of space. This is in contrast to gases, which expand to fill their container.

    2. Indefinite Shape: Liquids take the shape of their container, but only up to their volume. They don't have a rigid structure like solids.

    3. Fluidity: Liquids are able to flow and change shape easily due to the relatively weak interactions between their molecules. This allows them to move and fill any space they occupy.
