  • Chlorine Reactivity: Key Elements and Compounds
Chlorine can combine with a wide variety of elements to form compounds. Here are two examples:

    * Sodium (Na): Sodium and chlorine react vigorously to form sodium chloride (NaCl), commonly known as table salt. This is a classic example of an ionic compound.

    * Hydrogen (H): Hydrogen and chlorine react to form hydrogen chloride (HCl), a strong acid that dissolves in water to form hydrochloric acid.

Important Note: Chlorine is a highly reactive element and can combine with many other elements to form a variety of compounds. The specific reaction and the resulting compound depend on the other element involved.
