  • Photosynthesis Raw Materials: CO2, Water & Sunlight Explained
    Photosynthesis requires two main raw materials:

    1. Carbon dioxide (CO2): This is taken in from the atmosphere through tiny pores called stomata on the leaves of plants.

    2. Water (H2O): This is absorbed from the soil through the roots of plants.

    These raw materials are combined with sunlight to create glucose (a simple sugar) and oxygen (O2).

    Here is a simplified equation of photosynthesis:

    CO2 + H2O + Sunlight --> C6H12O6 (Glucose) + O2
