  • Photosynthesis Products: Glucose and Oxygen Explained
    Photosynthesis produces two main products:

    * Compound: Glucose (C6H12O6) - This is a simple sugar that serves as the primary energy source for plants and other organisms.

    * Element: Oxygen (O2) - This is a byproduct of photosynthesis and is released into the atmosphere.

The overall chemical equation for photosynthesis is:

    6CO2 + 6H2O + light energy → C6H12O6 + 6O2

This means that six molecules of carbon dioxide (CO2) and six molecules of water (H2O) are used in the presence of light energy to produce one molecule of glucose (C6H12O6) and six molecules of oxygen (O2).
