  • Where Does Gas Exchange Occur in the Human Body? (Alveoli)
The site for exchange of gases in human beings is the alveoli.

    Here's why:

    * Alveoli are tiny air sacs in the lungs.

    * Their thin walls and close proximity to capillaries (tiny blood vessels) allow for efficient diffusion of oxygen from the inhaled air into the blood and carbon dioxide from the blood into the air to be exhaled.
