  • Understanding Subatomic Particles: Protons, Neutrons, Electrons & More
There are more than two subatomic particles! The three main subatomic particles are:

    * Protons: Positively charged particles found in the nucleus of an atom.

    * Neutrons: Neutrally charged particles found in the nucleus of an atom.

    * Electrons: Negatively charged particles that orbit the nucleus of an atom.

However, there are many more subatomic particles that have been discovered through particle physics, including:

    * Quarks: Fundamental particles that make up protons and neutrons.

    * Leptons: Fundamental particles that include electrons and neutrinos.

    * Bosons: Particles that mediate forces, such as photons (light particles) and gluons.

So, depending on how you define "subatomic particles," there are either three or many more!
