  • Water vs. Gasoline Density: Which is Heavier?
    Water has a greater density than gasoline.

    Here's why:

    * Density is a measure of how much mass is contained in a given volume.

    * Water has a density of about 1 gram per cubic centimeter (g/cm³).

    * Gasoline has a density of about 0.7 g/cm³.

    This means that a given volume of water will be heavier than the same volume of gasoline.
