  • Ferromagnetic & Paramagnetic Metals: Which Ones Stick to Magnets?
    The metals that react to magnets, meaning they are ferromagnetic, are:

    * Iron (Fe)

    * Nickel (Ni)

    * Cobalt (Co)

    These metals are strongly attracted to magnets.

    There are also other metals that exhibit weak magnetic properties, but they are not strongly attracted to magnets. These include:

    * Gadolinium (Gd)

    * Dysprosium (Dy)

    * Terbium (Tb)

    These metals are called paramagnetic and are only weakly attracted to magnets.

    It's important to note that some alloys, which are mixtures of metals, can also be ferromagnetic, even if they don't contain any of the ferromagnetic elements listed above. A common example is stainless steel.
