  • Understanding Atomic Neutrality: Protons & Electrons
An atom with an equal number of protons and electrons is said to be electrically neutral.

    Here's why:

    * Protons: Positively charged particles in the nucleus of an atom.

    * Electrons: Negatively charged particles that orbit the nucleus.

When the number of protons (positive charges) equals the number of electrons (negative charges), the charges cancel each other out, resulting in a neutral atom.
