  • What is Frost? Understanding Ice Formation Below Freezing
Solid condensation on a surface below 0°C is known as frost.

Frost forms when water vapor in the air comes into contact with a surface that is colder than the freezing point of water (0°C or 32°F). The water vapor then directly transitions from a gaseous state to a solid state, skipping the liquid phase, and forming ice crystals on the surface.
