  • Hydrogen Atom Structure: Understanding Protons, Electrons, and Neutrons
The particle not found in the atom of hydrogen is a neutron.

    Here's why:

    * Hydrogen's Simplest Atom: Hydrogen (H) is the simplest element, with only one proton and one electron.

    * Proton: The proton is located in the nucleus, giving the atom a +1 charge.

    * Electron: The electron orbits the nucleus.

    * Neutrons: Neutrons are also located in the nucleus. However, the most common isotope of hydrogen, protium, has no neutrons.

There are heavier isotopes of hydrogen, deuterium (one proton, one neutron), and tritium (one proton, two neutrons), but these are not the most common form.
