    The balanced chemical equation for photosynthesis is:

    6CO₂ + 6H₂O → C₆H₁₂O₆ + 6O₂

    This equation shows that for every 6 molecules of carbon dioxide (CO₂) used, the plant produces 6 molecules of oxygen (O₂) .

    Therefore, the ratio is 1:1. For every one molecule of oxygen produced, one molecule of carbon dioxide is used up.
