  • Electrical Conductivity: Which Element Conducts Electricity?
The answer is mercury. Here's why:

    * Mercury is a liquid metal at room temperature. Metals are excellent conductors of electricity.

    * Bromine is a nonmetal and a liquid at room temperature. Nonmetals are generally poor conductors of electricity.

    * Oxygen and sulfur are both nonmetals and are solid at room temperature. Like bromine, they are poor conductors.
