Hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) is a compound, not an element. It is composed of two elements:

* Hydrogen (H): A colorless, odorless, and highly flammable gas.

* Sulfur (S): A yellow, brittle solid that is a nonmetal.

Hydrogen sulfide is formed when two hydrogen atoms bond to one sulfur atom.
